Thom Kooijmans

Thom Kooijmans (1980) started playing the saxophone at the age of ten at the music school in Schijndel.  After several years he went to study at the Brabants Conservatory in 1997.


In 2003 he graduated as both a classical saxophone player, and a teacher. Between 2007 and 2010 Thom studied jazz saxophone at the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg with teachers like Jasper Staps, Paul Weiling and Tineke Postma.


Thom played at a lot of stages and festivals with groups like Rezult, Denvis & The Real Deal and The Scattered Lights. Nowadays he is playing with FAITH, a tribute to George Micael, Lead-alto with the Brabants Jazz Orchestra, Dance is the New Jazz and Nong Blonde Bowie.  In addition to this he teaches the saxophone in Vught and Den Bosch.


In 2016 Thom joined the Horns on Fire.
